COLUMBUS–Rotary International recently gave its approval for a $10,250 humanitarian grant to St. Michael’s Children’s Home in Ratavici, Ukraine to help the home purchase a passenger van. The project was initiated by S.A.R.A. representative, Lana Sakash, who has been closely involved with the home since its inception in 2006. SARA brought together George Sakash, a representative from the Rotary Club of Upper Sandusky, Ohio and Andriy Beyzyk from the Lviv-Ratusha Rotary Club in Lviv, Ukraine to discuss the two clubs working together to apply for a Rotary Foundation Grant. The individual clubs and their respective Rotary Districts have contributed nearly $11,000 toward the project for a total grant award to St. Michael’s Children’s Home of $21,000.

What good news. I was a former Rotarian in Bellevue and my husband Ken is currently a Rotarian in Zoar. The work of SARA and Rotary are a good match. Ken will pass this on to his club and let them know more about SARA.
